Spend the day exploring The Dingle Peninsula, stretching westwards for 30 miles from the low-lying country near Tralee, is the most northerly of the hilly promontories of Kerry. Take in the striking Slieve Mish Mountains and the lovely harbor at Castlemain. The Gallerus Oratory stands inland and is perhaps one of the most perfect early Christian church buildings in Ireland and is probably 1200 years old.

KNOCK/CROAGH PATRICK/BALLINTUBBER

Magnificent views of Clew Bay and the surrounding south Mayo countryside are to be had from all stages of the ascent of the mountain. It was on the summit of the mountain that Saint Patrick fasted for forty days in 441 AD. We then visit the Ballintubber abbey. This abbey is a survivor, one of few Irish churches in continuous use for almost 800 years. Return to Knock for overnight.
