CANONIZATION

Very early morning transfer to St Peter’s square to attend the ceremony of canonization of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, founder of the Missionaries of Charity. In his homely at Beatification Mass, Pope John Paul II said: “I am personally grateful to this courageous woman, whom I have always felt near to me. Icon of the Good Samaritan, she went everywhere to serve Christ in the poorest of the poor. Not even conflicts and wars succeeded in stopping her.” Today, during the Jubilee of Mercy, Pope Francis will declare the sanctity of this woman that with her service to the poor showed to the world that “A life not lived for others is not a life”. The afternoon is at leisure in St. Peter’s square to have the chance to enter the Basilica passing through the Holy Door.
